Creating a lively atmosphere, the double height entry foyer and staircase set the tone for the welcoming space leading to a large sliding door system opening to the yard and sliding barn doors opening to the game room. Designed for entertaining, the living room seamlessly flows to the outdoor living spaces while keeping the indoor/outdoor connection clean and simple. Phase II of the project is currently under construction, adding approximately 3,400 square feet of living space and new detached living quarters.

The original California Mid Century home lends itself to the addition of a butterfly roof, rooftop deck, “flex” room and studio apartment. The facade elevation was raised updating the appearance to an open, inviting, and light structure. Inside, the elevation of the floor was raised in the courtyard, improving the indoor/outdoor connection.

The open floor plan combines the living room, kitchen, dining room and family room in one large room while still allowing all spaces to express their own identity by the use of color, materials, textures and shapes. The sculptural spiral staircase in the foyer gives the home personality with an open lightness.
