This residence on The Strand represents the pinnacle of beachside modernism, designed to maximize its position along one of the most iconic stretches of coastline in Southern California. The architecture is defined by its pursuit of transparency, utilizing expansive walls of glass to frame panoramic ocean views and dissolve the boundary between the living space and the Pacific.
The design utilizes a sophisticated, tiered structure that ensures every level remains connected to the horizon. Clean horizontal lines are balanced by a warm, organic material palette that keeps the contemporary geometry feeling grounded and approachable. By integrating recessed glazing and open-air balconies, the home captures constant sea breezes and the ever-changing coastal light.
Inside, the aesthetic is one of refined, “lived-in” modernism. The open-concept floor plan flows effortlessly from the gourmet kitchen to the primary lounge, where the ocean serves as the ultimate backdrop. Natural materials — from soft earthy tones to textured stone — are used to create a sanctuary that is as durable as it is elegant.
